Bad news. No, please.

Recent Maoist activities will have no effect on peace process: PM
    Kantipur Report
KATHMANDU, Dec 20 - Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala on Wednesday said that the recent Maoists’ activities will have no effect on the ongoing peace process.
The PM made the comment today morning while meeting with US Ambassador to Nepal, James F Moriarty at formers' residence in Baluwatar.
According to the PM's foreign affairs advisor Dr. Suresh Chalise, PM Koirala and envoy Moriarty discussed the recent political developments in the nation during the 20-minute long discussion.
The meet was particularly focused on Tuesday’s protest programme by the Maoists against the government decision to appoint ambassadors in various countries.
The US envoy today had called on the PM prior to leaving for the US for the Christmas holidays.
Moriarty's visit to the PM, which comes amid Maoists accusations that the government is "succumbing to the spell" cast by the foreign central powers, has been viewed in a meaningful light.
In a press statement, Maoist Chairman Prachanda on Tuesday had said that his party would not have any obligation to continue exercising restraint while the government continued to “breach its past agreements while dancing to the tune of foreign powers.”
Protesting the government decision to name ambassadors, the CPN-M also had called for a Kathmandu Valley bandh (general strike) that crippled life not only across the valley, but also across the country.
Earlier yesterday, Maoist spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara told ekantipur that such “unilateral action by the government could seriously affect the ongoing peace process” adding, “The decisions including nomination of the ambassadors were a violation of the government-Maoist agreements reached in the past.”
Meanwhile, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) chairman Pashupati Shamshere Rana also called on the PM today morning.
During the meet, the RPP chairman sought the PM's attention over the fact that the suggestions of the political opponents had not been included during the finalization of the interim constitution and that the RPP as well as other parties had been left out in the structure of the local agencies.
