IL NEPAL E' UN LUOGO SICURO COME DEVE ESSERE PER I TURISTI

Messner incoraggia i tedeschi a visitare il Nepal e anche in Inghilterra qualcosa si muove per incoraggiare il turismo:

KATHMANDU, Jan 17 - Reinhold Messner, the first person to climb all 14 eight thousand meter+ high mountains on Monday requested all the German people to visit Nepal.
Speaking at a press conference organised in Stuttgart, Germany on January 15 to disseminate information on Nepal tourism, Messner said that Nepal is as safe as it used to be for the tourists. The conference was attended by 40 renowned press personalities of Germany, stated a press release issued by Nepal Tourism Board.

Nepalese Ambassador to Germany Madan Kumar Bhattarai was also present at the conference.

The conference was basically centered on the changed scenario of Nepal after the signing of Historic Peace Accord, which was explained by Ann- Katrin Bauknecht, Honorary Nepalese Consul General and ambassador Bhattarai.

Reinforcing on the fact that there was no problem for the tourists coming to Nepal even in the hour of crisis, Messner asked them to imagine how the situation would be with all smiles on the faces of Nepali people welcoming the tourists in the new changed context.

After the conference Messner visited the Nepal Stand and signed his books to the public.

Messner also delivered a lecture to 400 well-known business personalities, sharing them with his experiences of life, and frequently talked about his time in Nepal.

Documentary on Nepal screened in London

A documentary named 'Nepal - Journey's on the Roof of the World' was screened at Nepal Embassy Hall in London, UK on Tuesday.
The documentary film, produced by 73Films with the support of Nepal Tourism Board, has captured various tourism activities like river rafting, trekking, village tour, jungle safari, Dashain festival, Nepali life style, etc. About 80 dignitaries from Nepali

Diaspora, media, and Nepal Loving Britons attended the programme and enjoyed the film, stated a press release issued by Nepal Tourism Board.

The chief guest of the programme Dipendra P. Bista, Charge de Affairs, Nepalese Embassy in UK, honoured 73Films team by awarding Letter of Appreciation on behalf of Nepal Tourism Board.

Stephan Sherman, producer and director of the film, shared his 14-month long experience in Nepal during the making of the film and reiterated that 'the worth of friendship is incredible in Nepal'.

At the end of programme, NTB PRR Dhruba K C shed light on NTB's role and support in this film. KC expressed his optimism that 2007 would be promising year for Nepalese tourism.

Sì hai ragione, avevo letto anch'io di questa cosa dal blog del Gilioli dell'espresso... questa notizia per me è stata una conferma della sfiducia che ho nel capo del Nepal Tourisme Board...però è un'opinione personale...

One killed in Lahan over MPRF protests, administration clamps curfew

The local administration has clamped curfew in and around Lahan municipality from 6 pm this evening till 4 am on Saturday morning after one person was killed when the workers of Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) and Maoists clashed with each other in Lahan of Siraha district this afternoon.

According to reports, clash ensued after a group of Maoist cadres were stopped by MPRF cadres in Lahan as they had announced chakkajam – traffic blockade – in the area.

One Ramesh Mahato, 16, was killed when a Maoist cadre opened fire at the MPRF workers. Following the killing, the workers of MPRF torched over one dozen vehicles.

Transport in Siraha and Saptari districts as well as in several places in the East West highway have been disrupted by the MPRF cadres who are demanding that their central leaders be immediately released.

Around 14 leaders of MPRF including its chairman Upendra Yadav were arrested from Kathmandu on Tuesday after they burnt copies of interim constitution claiming that it failed to address the concerns of people of Terai. Some of these leaders have been slapped with charges under Public Offense Act.

Meanwhile, a delegation of Terai MPs belonging to various parties today met with Home Minister Krishna Sitaula. The MPs urged the minister to release the MPRF leaders who they say had been arrested without any legal basis.

In another development, leaders of eight parties including Maoists, have decided to hold a joint peace and goodwill rally in Birgunj on January 21. nepalnews.com sd Jan 19 07

Fra, lo so che mi vivi come SCASSAMARRONI ma tu mi manchi davvero un casino...
Prendo spunto dalle tue ultime parole (eheheh) per chiedervi di leggere le pagine di sto link http://www.globalproject.info/index-it.html e chiedervi di dare un po' di attenzione a ciò che per molto tempo tutti hanno cercato di insabbiare.
I ragazzi di questa città, stanno davvero lottando con tutte le loro forze per farsi ascoltare. Non è una stronzata, io a Vicenza ci ho vissuto per 17 anni, ho vissuto la vicinanza col popolo bambinoamericano (tutti ragazzi molto giovani, la maggiorparte di loro ha poco più di vent'anni, viene da zone depresse, oppure sono figli di immigrati). Anni fa avevano promesso ai cittadini vicentini che il numero di militari sarebbe stato ridotto fino alla chiusura della vecchia caserma Ederle. Io ricordo da ragazzina, quando andavo a liceo in pullmam vedevo tutte le mattine i giovani soldati correre con la loro tuta grigia con scritto ARMY, vedevo i blindati uscire per i campi di addestramento. Mi sembrava di stare in TERRA OCCUPATA.
Ora ne arriveranno 2500, se va bene. Un'amica che vive in questa splendida città palladiana e che fa parte del comitato che lotta contro la base, mi ha detto che alcune terre verranno espropriate per ingrandire l'aeroporto.
E' giusto continuare a vivere con questo debito di guerra per sempre? E' giusto vivere in una città così bella come se si fosse sotto occupazione USA. Da quando hanno iniziato ad espandersi i prezzi degli affitti e delle case sono lievitati rispetto ad altre province di campagna in Italia.
Io lancerei una provocazione: credo che i vicentini ogni tanto si dicano "ma gli americani non sono anche loro extracomunitari?" come in Italia rifiutano gli africani e gli asiatici forse i vicentini vorrebbero che il governo rifiutasse loro.
